HOW TO RIG RHYS DAVIS TEASERS WITH REAL OR ARTIFICIAL BAIT 1. Thaw and straighten frozen bait before rigging. 2. Insert the bait’s head into the lure cavity & secure with a plastic pin or toothpick. 3. Pull out enough line to easily insert the hook into the bait behind the dorsal fin and just above the lateral line. See Figure 1 - Position A 4. For Bulletroll, move the hook closer to the tail. See Figure 1 - Position B 5. The hook shank should lay flush against the side of the bait. 6. To put a curve in the bait, pull up on the leader where it enters the front of the plastic lure. See Figure 2. The curve should be even from head to tail. 7. For slow trolling put more curve in the bait. For fast trolling, use less curve. 8. Large baits roll slower than small baits. 9. When the hook is positioned close to the dorsal fin, the bait rolls faster and tighter. 10. When the hook is positioned close to the tail, the boat rolls slower and wider. 11. For Large Teaser rigged with Strip, the hook is positioned 3/4” up from the tail and left free to trail beside the strip. 12. Rigged correctly & trolled at 1.5 to 2.5mph the lure revolves at 1-2 turns per second. SPECIAL TIPS 1. Always sharpen the hook points and pinch the barb if required. 2. Check the lure action at the side of the boat before lowering. 3. Re-check the lure action every 20 - 30 minutes. 4. Keep your toothpicks dry. Use a waterproof container. 5.
